In Part 7 I go over my Blackmagic pocket Cinema camera rig. Since having the pocket camera, my rig has been transforming into what you see here. I like to keep it as small and light as possible but yet quickly build it up on set if needed. One of the main reasons for taking the P&C cage and breaking it down was to mount an external battery and yet have a low center of gravity and still keeping the camera light and have a small form factor. As I explain in the video, you really will need a longer running battery if you want to do anything more than B-roll. Worrying about the batteries dying in the middle of the action is not a good thing. Below you will find some close ups of the rig and links to most of the items I used to build it. The main parts come from an inexpensive rearranged P&C cage. Also im including a DIY battery cable video to show you how I wired my own custom length cable to the battery so I don’t have to have long wires hanging all over my rig.
